    Do not get prompted for license information after installing WebAii Design Canvas RC0

     Hi,

    I do not get prompted for license information after installing WebAii Design Canvas RC0
    The installation works well and I can add a WebAii test in Visual Studio 2008.

    However, I get an error message when I try to open the test "The operation could not be completed"

    I am running Vista.

    Is this a known issue or did I miss a step?

    Hey Eric,

    The license activation needs to be run as Administrator. (Will be fixed in the final release)  When you start Visual Studio, right mouse click and say "Run As Administrator", you should now be prompted to pick your license after adding a WebAii Test.  Let me know if this works for you.

    Hello,

     I am running Windows Server 2008 and am getting the problem described by OP.   I've done as suggested and "run as administrator" but the error message still shows up.  Do you have any other suggestions?

    Are you running RC0? If so, then I'm pretty sure RC0 will not work. That license has period is expired by now.

    If you are running the latest trial version.... Are your positive that your trial version didn't expire? You have 20 days from the activation day...

    I am using an old link, but I have never activated the app.  I'll register with another email to get the latest link and see if that resolves the issue.

    Figured out the problem.  It appears an old license key from the RC0 stuck in the license administrator.  This cause VSTS to not prompt me for the new key.

     Here are steps to fix.  My instructions are for Windows Server 2008 x64bit.

    1) Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\ArtOfTest Inc\WebAii Automation Design Canvas 1.0\Bin
    2) Click on Microsoft.Licensing.LicAdmin.exe
    3) From the License Administrator, highlight the current key and right click
    4) Select Remove
    5) From the License Administrator top menu, select File->Activation Wizard
    6) If you received the trial license key, select "I want to activate over the internet" option
    7) Enter the key supplied in the trial email.

    I am getting this error on attempting to open an existing test that I have recorded. I can see that my trial license is still valid for a 2 weeks. Moreover, if I create a new project in the same solution and copy the same WebAii test over, it opens without any errors and I can execute it as well. Any suggestions ?

    Can you create a new test project and then create a new WebAii Test without any errors?

    Hey Chris,

    Yes. I am able to create a new WebAii tests in a new project and execute them. However, when I close out the project and re-open it in VS, I get this error and cant execute any of the recorded scripts.I can at this point, create a new project in the same solution, copy these scripts over and execute them without any errors.
